Notes
Stef - concertina, mandola, crwth Jim - concertina Matthew - saz, percussion Kelfin - percussion David - voice, whistle, percussion Frazer - guitar (possibly) [...and possibly others] You can just hear the end of the Cornish folktune "Constantine" at the beginning of track 4. The geometry of the Abbey, particularly the Lady Chapel is fascinating, and has been explored by writers such as John Michell. This chapel is the supposed site of the first Christian Church built in the British Isles, built, according to legend, by Joseph of Arimathea. Here is an introductory website. Some more recordings from the Lady Chapel can be found here. |

I hold The Dongas Tribe (and friends) among my favorite groups because the music is spontaneous and immediate, right from the heart. These young people carry on the bardic tradition of freely given happiness, the hallmark of Celtic peoples who "never meet a stranger." Even the most intricate pieces resonate with ease on the heartstrings! Bravo, Bards of Dongas!
